Job summary

Masonicare in Rocky Hill, CT is seeking a part-time Food Service Aide for the Evening Shift (2pm to 6pm), 20 hours per week. You will prepare meals for residents, staff, and events, ensuring quality, presentation, and safe food handling per HACCP guidelines.

Responsibilities include maintaining sanitation, labeling and rotating stored foods, assisting with inventory, and contributing to a positive team environment.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience: 1–3 years in food services.
• Sanitation certification preferred.
• Knowledge of food sanitation requirements and culinary terms.

• Follow posted schedule and Masonicare policies on callouts and hours.
• Suggest menu improvements based on resident feedback.
• Attend mandatory department meetings and trainings.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Prepare food products for residents, staff, and catered events that meet standards for quantity, quality, and presentation.
2. Adhere to all guidelines and procedures for safe food handling, HACCP, and general sanitation.
3. Ensure all work areas and equipment are clean and sanitized on routine basis, and all stored food products are labeled, dated, and properly maintained/rotated.
4. May assist in inventory, ordering, and receiving of food products as needed.
5. Demonstrate customer service excellence and contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment; treat others with respect, handle issues with professionalism, and prioritize resident needs to maintain standards and expectations of food service department.
6. Adhere to posted schedule, and follow Masonicare policies regarding callouts and schedule modifications, recording work hours, dress code, etc.; represent Masonicare to community and escalation issues presented.
7. Make recommendations on improvements to menu and introducing new products, with careful consideration of resident feedback.
8. Attend all mandatory department meetings and in-services, as well as company-wide or affiliate-wide trainings and initiatives.
9. All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma or GED.

Experience: 1-3 years of experience in food services.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Sanitation certification preferred.

Key Competencies: Knowledge of food sanitation requirements and regulations. Knowledge of culinary terms and procedures.
