Job summary

Atria Senior Living is hiring a kitchen staff member in New York to assist with meal preparation and presentation in dining services. You will work closely with the Executive Chef and Sous Chef to ensure residents enjoy high-quality meals and a clean, safe kitchen environment.

The role requires basic literacy and English communication, knowledge of food handling, and the ability to follow recipes and production guides.

Qualifications

• Basic reading, writing and mathematical skills.
• Effectively read, write and communicate in English with residents and other employees.
• Food handlers permit as required by provincial law and/or Company standards.
• Able to follow and read recipes and production guides.
• Knowledge of food handling, preparation, cooking and service.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and presentation of meals.
• Provide high level customer service.
• Work closely with the Executive Chef and/or Sous Chef to keep residents satisfied with food and dining programs.
• Keep kitchen in a clean, safe, and sanitary condition at all times.
• Adhere to cleaning schedules as assigned.
• Ensure that all food is received, stored, and prepared according to company standards.
• Assist cook with preparation and presentation of meals and snacks in accordance to company recipe and production guides.
• Operate and maintain kitchen equipment in a clean and sanitary manner.
• May perform other duties as assigned.

• Will attend pre-meal stand up in kitchen prior to meal service.

Salary Range

The wage range for this position is $23.75/hr - $28.50/hr, dependent on prior work history and experience
