Job description

Popina NYC is looking for dedicated and experienced Prep Cooks to join our team! We are hiring for both Full-Time and Part-Time positions. Seasonal prep work is also considered.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • 2 years of prep experience in a fast-paced, full-service restaurant.
  • Passion for excellence, superior service standards, and a positive attitude.
  • Open availability including mornings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the shift, including frequent bending, lifting up to 50 pounds, and stooping.
  • Ability to remain positive and productive in a potentially hot or cold work environment.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Set up and stock station with all necessary supplies, ensuring proper inventory control.
  • Cook and prepare menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff according to Popina's Recipe Book, ensuring food quality and time standards are met.
  • Maintain a high level of communication, multi-task, follow instructions, and meet deadlines.
  • Report to and follow instructions from Sous Chef, CDC, or other leadership.
  • Properly clean and break down station at the end of service, ensuring all food handling and storage standards are met.
  • Ensure kitchen operation procedures and hygiene meet food safety standards at all times.
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers, leadership, and vendors.
