Job summary

Delta by Marriott, Downtown Muskegon is seeking a Prep Cook to help keep the kitchen running smoothly by preparing, cooking and cleaning tasks to deliver guests' dishes.

In this role you will set up workstations, label and stock ingredients, follow safety procedures and assist in all areas of the kitchen as needed.

Responsibilities

• Completes all tasks, in order, on the prep list
• Set up and sanitize workstations
• Check labels daily to ensure freshness
• Label and stock ingredients in their designated areas
• Wash, chop and sort ingredients
• Measure and mix ingredients according to recipes
• Parboil food, reducing sauces and make soup stock
• Set up and stock stations with necessary supplies
• Cleaning dishes, washing cooking utensils and cookware
• Clean work area, sinks, counters, display and prep tables and other equipment
• Follow proper safety procedures when using kitchen equipment
• Empty wastebaskets and transports trash to disposal area
• Keeps record of cooler and freezer temps
• Assists in all areas of the kitchen as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned
