Qualifications

Job Summary:

The Prep Cook will plan, prep, set up, and provide quality service in all areas of food production for menu items and specials in accordance with standards and plating guide specifications. Maintain organization, cleanliness, and sanitation of work areas and equipment.

Pay: $16 - $18 / hour

Basic Job Duties:

  • Prepare all menu items according to recipe requirements and adhere to product sensitivity and plate presentation guidelines.
  • Read tickets and prepare orders.
  • Maintain superior quality in the production of all food items.
  • Work with speed and efficiency to ensure proper and timely output of restaurant menu items.
  • Keep updated on recipe changes and ensure proper execution of recipe procedures to maintain a high-quality and consistent product.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen area throughout shift.
  • Complete assigned prep work for stocking and set up of station. Break down and clean station thoroughly every day.
  • Ensure proper rotation of all products to par. Label, day dot, and sign all products. Obtain Chef/Manager signature on all products.
  • Adherence to Company and Safety Policies and Procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned, such as stock counts, labeling, and signage of products to support safe and efficient kitchen operations.

Education and Certification:

  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • Current food safety certification, such as ServSafe and SafeStaff (can obtain upon hire)

Experience:

1 year similar experience preferred

Physical Demands:

  • Frequent lifting, moving, and carrying of kitchenware, cleaning equipment, food boxes, garbage etc. weighing up to 30-40 pounds.
  • Regular and prolonged standing and walking to prepare food, clean work station, move garbage, etc.
  • Occasional ascending/descending stairs across the restaurant to move food items, equipment, etc.
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
