Job summary

Flow in Fort Lauderdale is seeking a Prep Cook who thrives with organic ingredients, seasonal produce, and farm-to-table kitchen practices. You will support the kitchen team with thoughtful dish preparation and a commitment to sustainability, care, and community.

You will follow the Head Chef's prep list, label and stock ingredients, and help maintain a clean, safe workspace while handling up to 50 lbs. Flexibility for weekends/holidays and a proactive learning mindset are valued.

Qualifications

  • Experience with organic ingredients and farm-to-table kitchens.
  • Experience prepping meals with fresh, seasonal ingredients.
  • Ability to keep the cooking station clean and comply with health & safety standards.
  • Curiosity and willingness to take notes, ask questions and communicate clearly to learn and grow.
  • Self-driven, organized, and able to work with minimal direction.
  • Flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and standing long shifts.
  • Remain calm and focused under pressure during peak hours.

Responsibilities

  • Follow the prep list provided by the Head Chef or Kitchen Manager, completing all tasks in order and with care.
  • Label and stock ingredients clearly and in organized fashion.
  • Wash, chop, and sort fresh, seasonal produce and foods.
  • Clean and sanitize reusable cookware, prep tools, and work surfaces in alignment with eco-conscious kitchen practices.
  • Compost food scraps, sort recyclables, and responsibly dispose of waste to minimize environmental impact.
  • Maintain a clean, organized space while adhering to all health, safety, and food handling guidelines.
  • Monitor ingredient inventory and collaborate with the team to restock local, sustainable goods as needed.

About the Role

As a Prep Cook at Flow, you will have experience working with organic ingredients, fresh seasonal produce, and in farm-to-table kitchens focused on locally sourced menus. Your role is vital in in bringing our hospitality vision to life through thoughtfully prepared ingredients and a deep respect for the culinary process. With an eye for detail and a passion for quality, you will support our kitchen team in creating meals that nourish not just the body, but also a sense of connection and community. Whether it’s prepping for a busy brunch or helping to execute a sustainably sourced dinner service, you will drive your commitment to design, sustainability, and care in every dish.

  • Comfortable with the physical demands of the job - lifting up to 50 lbs and staying on your feet for long shifts
