Job summary

The Original Pancake House DFW in Fishers, IN is seeking an experienced Prep Cook to join our team. You will be preparing and cooking a variety of dishes for restaurant guests to enjoy.

Open shifts run from 7:00am to 2:00pm Monday through Friday and 7:00am to 3:00pm on weekends, with the pace and teamwork expected in a busy kitchen. Qualifications

• Attention to detail is required to maintain quality and safety standards.
• Teachable attitude to learn recipes and techniques.
• Excellent communication with team and front-of-house staff.
• Ability to lift 30+ lbs during deliveries and stock handling.
• Ability to stand for 8+ hours while preparing meals.
• Previous prep cook experience preferred and beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and clean prep areas and equipment to ensure sanitary conditions.
• Ensure freshness by rotating and labeling products in storage.
• Prepare and cook a variety of dishes for guests.
• Respond to guest feedback promptly and professionally.
• Communicate with incoming shift about prep priorities.
• Check in food deliveries and manage stock levels.
• Coordinate with management on ordering and replenishment.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and clean food preparation areas, such as equipment and work surfaces or serving areas to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices
• Ensure freshness of food and ingredients through effective rotation and labeling of product in the walk in.
• Taste, taste, taste. Ensure all prep is cooked and seasoned correctly.
• Respond to guest feedback with appropriate urgency and professionalism.
• Communicate with the incoming shift as to what prep items need to be completed/prioritized.
• Checking in food deliveries.
• Continuous communication with management for ordering.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a prep cook preferred.

• ServeSafe or Food Handler’s certification (or must be willing to attain)
