Job summary

SSP America in Detroit is seeking a Prep Cook to prepare delicious dishes and keep the kitchen organized for smooth shifts. You’ll thrive in a dynamic Back of House, ensuring ingredients and tools are ready for teammates.

Responsibilities include maintaining station setup, stocking, rotating perishables, cleaning equipment, and completing opening/closing checklists. SSP America emphasizes advancement opportunities and supportive team culture.

Qualifications

• Experience in food prep or line cooking preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Strong attention to detail and consistency.

Responsibilities

• Maintain proper and adequate set-up of the kitchen/station daily.
• Requisitioning and stocking of all required food, paper products, and condiments.
• Handle, store, and rotate products properly.
• Set up, maintain, clean, and breakdown equipment and machinery as needed.
• Maintain stock, cut, and store perishables daily to ensure product quality.
• Complete opening, ongoing, and closing checklists as required.
• Ensure quality and safety of products served.
• Perform general cleaning tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Here are a few things you can expect as a Prep Cook at SSP America:

• Maintain proper and adequate set-up of the kitchen/station on a daily basis
• Requisitioning and stocking of all required food, paper products, and condiments
• Handle, store, and rotate all products properly
• Responsible for set-up, regular maintenance, cleaning, and breakdown of any machinery and equipment
• Responsible for maintaining stock, cutting, and storage of all perishables daily to ensure product quality
• Complete opening, on-going, and closing checklists as required
• Takes responsibility for quality of products served
• Perform general and specific cleaning tasks using standard cleaning products as assigned by supervisor to adhere to health standards
• Other duties as assigned
