Job summary

Prime Hospitality Group is seeking a skilled PREP COOK to join the Ruth’s Chris Steak House team. You will prep, portion, prepare, and assemble salads, desserts, and other cold items, ensuring accuracy and quality in every plated dish.

Under supervision of the Sous Chef, you’ll work in a fast-paced kitchen, adapt to seasonal menus, maintain hygiene standards, and contribute to delivering the exceptional dining experience our guests expect.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Advanced knowledge of the stations and equipment in a kitchen.
• Ability to work with extreme temperature changes, including a walk-in freezer at -10°F.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Completion of restaurant training program and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Prep, portion, prepare, and assemble cold items (salads, cold appetizers, desserts).
• Ensure all food products meet Ruth's Chris Steak House recipe specifications and quality standards.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES FOR PREP COOK

• Under the direction of the Sous Chef or Manager-on-Duty, the Prep Cook will prep, portion, prepare, and assemble all cold food items (salads, cold appetizers, and hot/cold desserts) offered in the restaurant.

JOB REQUIREMENT FOR PREP COOK

• Highschool diploma or G.E.D.
• Restaurant Operations Aptitude/Mastery BOH: advanced knowledge of the stations and roles in a kitchen as well as all the equipment used in the kitchen.
• Must be able to work with extremes temperature changes including working in a walk-in freezer of -10°F.
• Must be able to lift, handle, and carry food, supply, smallwares, equipment, supplies and paper goods up to 50 pounds.
• Must successfully complete restaurant training program and maintain a willingness to learn.
