The Indigo Road Hospitality Group (IRHG) is hiring a Prep Cook in Charlottesville, VA. You’ll support the kitchen by following prep lists, portioning ingredients, and maintaining high culinary standards to back up the cooks and chefs. Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of experience in kitchen preparation and line cook experience.
• Positive energy and ability to work as part of a team.
• Ability to read and understand basic cooking directions.
• Effective communication with managers, staff, and guests.
• Flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsabilités

THE ROLE

Order and precision of all things food is what you live for. As a Prep Cook, you enjoy the behind-the-scenes of culinary art and ensuring success for the rest of the kitchen staff.

What we will ask of you:

• Refer to Daily Prep List for each shift and complete opening and closing checklists and promptly report equipment, food quality problems, or product shortages to Chef
• Prepares and portions a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and other food items for cooking in broilers, ovens, grills, fryers and a variety of other kitchen equipment
• Understands and complies consistently with our standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies, and procedures.
• Maintains a clean and sanitary workstation area including tables, shelves, grills, broilers, fryers, pasta cookers, sauté burners, convection oven flat top range, refrigeration equipment, and adhere to all DHEC regulations for cleanliness and sanitation

Requirements for Success:

• A minimum of one year of experience in kitchen preparation and line cook experience
• Have a positive energy, be ready to assist fellow support staff and work as a team player
• Must be able to speak, read and understand basic cooking directions
• Ability to communicate effectively with managers, employees, and all guests
• A flexible schedule to work days, nights, weekends and holidays
• Constant standing/walking with occasional stooping, kneeling, pushing, pulling, or lifting
