Job summary

Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races is seeking a culinary team member to prepare and assemble salads, sandwiches, and other items for dining areas. You will slice meats and cheeses, portion food to fulfill orders, and support commissary needs in a fast-paced setting.

The role requires at least 3 months of culinary experience, the ability to read safety and operation documents, and basic math for portions. Licensing with the WV Racing Commission and WV Food Handlers certification are required.

Qualifications

• 3 months experience in the culinary field.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Must qualify for licensing with the West Virginia Racing Commission.
• Attend our West Virginia Food Handlers Class and pass certification.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, season, and mix, grab & go salads/sandwiches/etc., compound salads, fruit/veggie displays, other foodstuffs for consumption in dining areas at Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races.
• Slices meats/cheeses/vegetables/fruits, portions food to fill orders.
• Fills commissary orders to outlets.
• Adds seasoning to foods during mixing or cooking/mixing.
• Observes and tests foods being cooked by tasting, smelling, and piercing with fork to determine that it is cooked.
• Washes, peels, cuts, and shreds vegetables and fruits to prepare them for use.
• Other duties may be assigned.
