Responsibilities

  • Wash, chop, slice, portion, and prepare ingredients according to recipes and prep lists.
  • Label, date, rotate, and store food following food safety standards.
  • Assist cooks with station setup and breakdown.
  • Prepare sauces, stocks, dressings, and batch recipes as directed.
  • Maintain cleanliness of prep areas, coolers, and storage spaces.
  • Follow sanitation and health department guidelines.
  • Assist with receiving deliveries and verifying product quality.
  • Notify supervisors of low inventory or product concerns.
  • Support special projects, catering, and banquet prep as needed.
  • Safely operate kitchen equipment including slicers, mixers, and food processors.
  • Dispose of waste properly and follow recycling protocols.
  • Maintain professional conduct and teamwork.

Job Purpose

The Prep Cook supports kitchen operations by preparing ingredients, maintaining organization and cleanliness, and ensuring stations are stocked and ready for service.
