Job summary

Meriwether Godsey is seeking a Full-time Prep Cook at a coeducational, independent boarding school in Andover, NH. You will assist in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of daily meals and special events, with attention to food safety and quality.

The role requires 2-3 years of prep experience, ServSafe certification, and the ability to work various schedules. The position offers competitive pay, sign-on bonus after 90 days, uniforms, meals, and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 2-3 years of prior food preparatory experience preferred.
• ServSafe Certification and knowledge of food production techniques.
• Ability to measure products and convert units.
• Awareness of commercial kitchen equipment and routine maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine kitchen tasks and follow the rep list created to plan duties.
• Label and stock all ingredients on shelves for organization and easy access.
• Prepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat, and doing other meal prep.
• Set up workstations and ingredients so that food can be prepared according to recipes.
• Undertake basic cooking duties, such as reducing sauces and parboiling food.
• Prepare simple dishes, such as salads and entrees.
• Take and record temperatures, following all required food handling and sanitation standards to ensure food safety.
• Assist with the organization and sanitation of coolers, freezers, and storerooms: all items covered, labeled, and dated.
• Keep work areas organized, cleaning and sanitizing work areas and equipment.
• Attend production meetings daily, offering input concerning leftover utilization, efficiency, product quality, etc.
• Perform all duties in accordance with food safety and sanitation best practices.
• Other duties, as assigned.

Meriwether Godsey is looking for a Full-time Prep Cook responsible for assisting in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of daily meals as well as special events and high-end catering, at a coeducational, independent preparatory boarding school for grades 9-12 on 2,500 beautiful acres in Andover, New Hampshire

• Full-time (part-time opportunities are available)
• $19-$21 Per Hour
• Schedule: Various Schedules

$250.00 Sign-On Bonus (payable after 90 days)

What The Prep Cook Will Do
