Job summary

USPI Memorial Hermann Surgery Center Memorial Village is seeking a motivated Full-Time RN PreOp to join our team. We operate 8 OR rooms and 2 treatment rooms for diverse outpatient procedures with a weekday-only schedule. Some early mornings and later evenings may occur based on surgical flow.

You will perform preoperative assessments, verify documentation, administer meds, educate patients and families, and collaborate with surgeons and anesthesiologists to ensure smooth transitions of care.

Qualifications

• Must be a Registered Nurse with an unrestricted TX license.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• 1–3 years' experience in PreOP/PACU; ambulatory surgical center preferred.
• Current BLS, ALS and PALS.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive preoperative assessments including history and vitals.
• Review patient documentation, consents, and lab results for accuracy.
• Administer preoperative meds and monitor patient response.
• Educate patients and families about the surgical process and expectations.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and staff for smooth care transitions.
• Maintain infection control, safety, and regulatory standards.
• Document care in EMR promptly and accurately.
• Support a safe, efficient pre-op environment.
