Job summary

USPI Memorial Hermann Surgery Center Memorial Village seeks a motivated Full-Time RN PreOp to join our team. We operate 8 OR rooms and 2 treatment rooms across a range of specialties, with weekday-only schedules and occasional early mornings or evenings.

You will perform preoperative assessments, verify documents, administer meds, and educate patients while collaborating with surgeons and anesthesia. Strong infection control and EMR skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Must be a Registered Nurse with an unrestricted license in the state of Texas.
• Must have graduated from an accredited school of nursing.
• Must have 1–3 years of previous experience in PreOP/PACU.
• Previous experience in an ambulatory surgical center strongly preferred.
• Must have current BLS, ALS and PALS.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive preoperative assessments, including medical history, vital signs, and patient education.
• Review and verify patient documentation, consents, and lab results.
• Administer preoperative medications as ordered and monitor patient response.
• Provide education and emotional support to patients and families regarding the surgical process.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other clinical staff to ensure smooth transitions of care.
• Maintain compliance with infection control, safety, and regulatory standards.
• Document all patient care accurately and timely in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Assist in maintaining a safe, efficient, and supportive pre-op environment.
