Job summary

Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, KS is seeking a PreOp Registered Nurse (RN) for PRN coverage to support immediate postoperative care. The role involves airway management, neuro and cardiac monitoring, wound care, and close collaboration with the surgical/anesthesia teams to ensure patient stability and safe recovery.

Responsibilities include performing nursing assessments, documenting patient status, providing bedside education to patients and families, and being available for on-call shifts

Qualifications

• Active RN license.
• ACLS within 90 days of start date.
• BLS within 30 days of start date.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care following evidence-based practices.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including providers and therapy staff.
• Independently apply the nursing process to deliver safe care and monitor patients.
• Assess patient condition, monitor, and document changes throughout the shift.
• Educate patients and families about medical conditions, treatments, and follow-up measures.
