Methodist Hospital Westover Hills is actively seeking a Registered Nurse RN PreOp to support preoperative evaluation, education, and patient care in a collaborative operating room team. The role requires on-call during select hours, with a strong emphasis on patient safety and adherence to universal protocols.

Responsibilities include preop assessment, IV therapy, medication administration, and perioperative patient education while working with providers and surgical staff to continuously

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Diploma/ADN/BSN).
• Minimum 6 months of clinical RN experience.
• Current Texas RN license or Multi-State Compact; must obtain TX license within 60 days of hire.
• ACLS within 90 days; BLS within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients preoperatively.
• Educate patients and families about procedures and perioperative care.
• Prepare patient for surgery, including IV therapy and preoperative medications.
• Assist with surgical site verification and universal protocols.
• Monitor patient condition and respond to emergencies.
• Collaborate with providers, surgeons, and staff to improve workflow.
• Deliver safe nursing care using evidence-based practices and nursing process.
