Job summary

Texas Health Fort Worth is seeking a Patient Care Tech (PCT) for PreOp/PostOp to provide direct patient care under nursing supervision. The role involves supporting admission, transfer, discharge and documenting patient care in a fast-paced hospital setting.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, PCT/EMT training or equivalent, BCLS, CPI, and strong interpersonal skills. Working full-time days with weekend/holiday requirements is available at the Fort Worth campus.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or Equivalent Required.
• CLIAFE compliance with CLIA regulations for foreign education equivalency.
• PCT Training Program TX CNA, NHA, NAHP, NCCT or THR approved program. Not required to maintain certification after hire.
• EMT—Emergency Medical Technician training or military medical training equivalent required on hire.
• Nursing student who has completed fundamentals or foreign nurse degree program on hire.
• 1 year of applicable experience in lieu of an active certification on hire.
• BCLS prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly.
• CPI—Crisis Prevention Intervention training maintained annually, 90 days required.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care and assistance based on the plan of care.
• Collect and report patient data; support admission, transfer, discharge processes.
• Perform technical procedures safely and document care accurately.
• Collaborate with nurses to adapt care for diverse populations.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and respond to patient and visitor needs.
• Demonstrate teamwork, flexibility, and cross-disciplinary communication.
• Participate in process improvement and safety adherence.
