Job summary

Winter Garden Surgery Center is seeking a Patient Care Technician-Preop to support patient care activities in a fast-paced ambulatory setting. You will assist with monitoring vitals, EKGs, and helping patients before surgery, while maintaining clear communication with the healthcare team.

The role requires a HS diploma, BLS, and 2+ years in a multi-specialty ambulatory or outpatient facility, with a focus on collaborative patient care and safety.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Maintains professional competency through continuing education.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Perform EKGs and blood glucose monitoring under RN supervision.
• Ensure the anesthesia provider meets with the patient prior to the OR.
• Regularly monitor vital signs and report changes to the RN.
• Assist RNs and provide basic patient care.
• Help patients with activities of daily living.
• Assist in turning, repositioning, and transferring patients.
