Job summary

Johns Hopkins Howard County Surgery Center in Maryland is seeking a Prep/PACU nurse to prep and recover patients undergoing ophthalmology, orthopedics and pain management procedures. 8-hour days, Mon-Fri with PRN, minimum of 4 eight-shifts in a 6-week schedule; ASN/BSN required and active Maryland RN license.

BLS CPR certification is required, ACLS within 6 months of hire, and ICU/PACU experience is preferred. Free parking and access to Hopkins facilities are offered as part of a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Active Maryland or Compact RN license is required.
• BLS CPR certification through AHA, Red Cross, or military training.
• ACLS required within 6 months of hire.
• Minimum of 6 months ICU or Preop PACU RN experience; 1 year preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and recover patients undergoing ophthalmology, orthopedics and pain management procedures.
• Support patient safety and comfort throughout perioperative phases.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure smooth PACU transitions.
