Job summary

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or Diploma in Nursing or higher.
• Current RN license in state of practice (active, temporary, or compact).
• BLS and ACLS required.
• PALS certification within 90 days if ASC pediatrics is assigned.
• Minimum one-year licensed RN experience in PreOp/PACU.
• RN with no PreOp/PACU experience may enroll in Perianesthesia Academy and complete within 4 months.
• New RN enrolled in Perianesthesia Academy with completion within 4 months.
• PRN: minimum two years RN experience in PreOp/PACU.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual and educational needs and plan care accordingly.
• Formulate and implement a care plan including discharge planning in collaboration with patient/family and health team.
• Lead and supervise activities of the health care team to provide direct patient care as ordered.
• Evaluate patient progress and adjust plans as needed in collaboration with the care team.
• Document care plans, interventions and patient responses accurately in the medical record.
• Promote evidence-based care and participate in ongoing nursing quality improvement.
