Job summary

Legent Health is seeking a PAT/PreOp/PACU RN in Carrollton, TX to manage pre-admission testing, preoperative and postoperative care. The nurse will guide patients through the surgical process, administer medications, initiate IVs, and monitor vitals in the PACU.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current and active CPR certification.
• Current nursing license in good standing.
• 2-3 years’ experience in critical care nursing.

Responsibilities

• Oversee intake and perform initial physical assessment for pre-admission testing.
• Assist PAT with tests ordered by surgeon (EKG, blood work as needed).
• Explain the process to patients and discuss post-surgical care plan.
• Manage admissions to preoperative department and verify patient identification wristbands.
• Administer medications, monitor vitals, and initiate IVs in the pre- and post-operative settings.
• Assess patient condition post-operatively, monitor vitals, document findings, and educate patients and families.
