Job summary

SurgCenter Pinellas is seeking an RN for PreOp and PACU to provide continuous, high-quality nursing care before and after anesthesia in a specialty surgical setting in Florida. You will monitor patients, ensure safety, comfort and privacy, and support physicians during procedures with sedation and sterile technique when required.

The role requires an active Florida RN license, BLS/ACLS (PALS if required), and typically 2 years PACU or critical care experience.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
  • Active RN license in FL.
  • BLS and ACLS Required; PALS if required by the center.
  • 2 years experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred.
  • Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment.
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written.

Responsibilities

  • Provide continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patient's condition, safety, comfort and privacy.
  • Assist physicians in procedure rooms with tasks, conscious sedation, and sterile techniques as deemed appropriate.
  • Provide total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation; assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for discharge preparation.

PreOp / PACU Registered Nurse (PACU RN)

The PreOp / PACU Registered Nurse provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patient's condition, providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times. May assist the physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, conscious sedation, and utilizing sterile techniques as deemed appropriate. Will provide total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation; assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge

Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing
  • Active RN license in FL
  • BLS and ACLS Required, PALS if required by the center

  • Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet the needs of patients and the unit
