Job summary

Ambulatory Surgery Center Tampa, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking a Perioperative Nurse for PRN coverage. You will plan, execute, and evaluate nursing care preoperatively and postoperatively until discharge, upholding the network’s patient-centered values.

Responsibilities include preparing care areas, ensuring equipment readiness, performing comprehensive assessments, administering pre-operative meds, managing IV therapy, and verifying discharge criteria.

Qualifications

• Active RN license required
• BCLS certification required upon employment (online cert not acceptable)
• ACLS required within 30 days of hire
• PALS if required by facility within 30 days of hire
• Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma or higher nursing degree required

Responsibilities

• Ensure availability of equipment and supplies for procedures
• Conduct complete physical and psychological assessment and review history/tests
• Administer pre-operative medications and IV therapy as prescribed
• Insert, maintain, and remove IV catheters and saline locks
• Check dressings/oper operative site and report abnormalities
• Ensure patients meet discharge criteria

Job Summary and Qualifications

Join our team as a Perioperative Nurse in our ambulatory surgery center. You will be responsible for planning, executing, and evaluating the nursing care rendered preoperatively and postoperatively until your patients are discharged. What you will do in this role:

• Prepare your patients’ care area adequately before case

• Ensure availability of necessary equipment and supplies for your patients’ procedure

• Conduct complete physical, and psychological assessment and evaluation of your patients’ history and diagnostic tests

• Administer pre-operative medications and intravenous therapy as prescribed

• You will exhibit proper technique for insertion, maintenance, and removal of IV catheters and saline locks

• Check dressings and/or operative site of your patients and report abnormalities to the surgeon

• Ensure your patients meet discharge criteria

Qualifications you will need:

• Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma or Higher degree in Nursing Required

• 1+ years of nursing experience in a clinical setting, preferably in PACU, ICU or Surgery

• Active RN license as required by state of employment

• BCLS Certification upon employment. ***online certification not acceptable

• ACLS required within 30-days of hire

• PALS if required by facility within 30-days of hire
