Job summary

HCA Healthcare is seeking a PreOp PACU Nurse to join our ambulatory surgery center, focusing on preoperative and postoperative care until discharge. You will coordinate with managers and hospital councils to influence patient care decisions and uphold high standards of nursing across the center.

The role requires an active RN license, 1+ year PACU/ICU/Surgery experience, ACLS within 30 days of hire, BCLS on employment, and PALS if required.

Qualifications

• Active RN license as required by state of employment.
• ACLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• BCLS certification upon employment; online certification not acceptable.
• PALS if required by facility within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the patient care area before case.
• Ensure availability of equipment and supplies for the procedure.
• Conduct comprehensive physical and psychological assessment and review of history/tests.
• Administer pre-operative medications and IV therapy as prescribed.
• Insert, maintain, and remove IV catheters and saline locks.
• Check dressings and operative site and report abnormalities.
• Ensure patients meet discharge criteria.

Job Summary And Qualifications

Join our team as a Perioperative Nurse in our ambulatory surgery center. You will be responsible for planning, executing, and evaluating the nursing care rendered preoperatively and postoperatively until your patients are discharged. What you will do in this role:

• Prepare your patients’ care area adequately before case
• Ensure availability of necessary equipment and supplies for your patients’ procedure
• Conduct complete physical, and psychological assessment and evaluation of your patients’ history and diagnostic tests
• Administer pre-operative medications and intravenous therapy as prescribed
• You will exhibit proper technique for insertion, maintenance, and removal of IV catheters and saline locks
• Check dressings and/or operative site of your patients and report abnormalities to the surgeon
• Ensure your patients meet discharge criteria

Qualifications you will need:

• Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma or Higher degree in Nursing Required
• 1+ years of nursing experience in a clinical setting, preferably in PACU, ICU or Surgery
• Active RN license as required by state of employment
• BCLS Certification upon employment. ***online certification not acceptable
• ACLS required within 30-days of hire
• PALS if required by facility within 30-days of hire
