Job summary

North Austin Surgery Center, affiliated with HCA Healthcare, is seeking a Perioperative Nurse to join our ambulatory surgery team in Austin, TX. You will plan, execute, and evaluate preoperative and postoperative nursing care, guiding patients through the perioperative experience with compassion and clinical excellence.

The role requires 1+ year in PACU, active RN license, and BCLS/ACLS (within 30 days) with PALS if required.

Qualifications

  • Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma or Higher degree in Nursing.
  • 1+ years of nursing experience in a clinical setting, preferably in PACU, ICU or Surgery.
  • Active RN license as required by state of employment.
  • BCLS Certification upon employment. online certification not acceptable.
  • ACLS required within 30-days of hire.
  • PALS if required by facility within 30-days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare your patients’ care area adequately before case
  • Ensure availability of necessary equipment and supplies for your patients’ procedure
  • Conduct complete physical, and psychological assessment and evaluation of your patients’ history and diagnostic tests
  • Administer pre-operative medications and intravenous therapy as prescribed
  • You will exhibit proper technique for insertion, maintenance, and removal of IV catheters and saline locks
  • Check dressings and/or operative site of your patients and report abnormalities to the surgeon
  • Ensure your patients meet discharge criteria

Job Summary And Qualifications

Join our team as a Perioperative Nurse in our ambulatory surgery center. You will be responsible for planning, executing, and evaluating the nursing care rendered preoperatively and postoperatively until your patients are discharged.
