Duke University Health System is hiring a Clinical Nurse II (RN) for the PreOp unit at Duke Raleigh Hospital in Raleigh, NC. The role focuses on providing comprehensive nursing care for surgical patients, with emphasis on preoperative assessment, perioperative support, and collaboration with the care team to ensure an excellent patient experience.

Shift options include three 12-hour shifts (36 hours/week), Monday through Friday, with no weekends or holidays.

Qualifications

• 1+ years clinical nurse experience preferred; at least one year RN experience required for a CN2 role.
• Prior experience in surgical services or critical care is strongly preferred.
• Graduation from an accredited Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (or higher), Associate's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma program is required.
• All registered nurses without a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (or higher) will be required to enroll in an appropriate BSN program within two years of their start date and to complete the program within five years of their start date

Responsibilities

• Provide and supervise direct and indirect total nursing care responsibilities.
• Utilize the nursing process (assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating) to achieve the goals of the nursing department.
