Job summary

NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital is seeking a NYS-licensed Cytogenetics Technologist to perform constitutional and prenatal testing. You will culture cells, prepare slides, and conduct karyotyping with FISH support as part of a collaborative laboratory team.

You will work on specimens such as amniotic fluid, CVS, POC, and peripheral blood, ensuring strict aseptic technique and adherence to regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or related health science field.
• New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist license required.
• ASCP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process and verify constitutional and prenatal specimens.
• Set up and maintain tissue cultures with sterile technique.
• Prepare slides and perform G-banding for constitutional samples.
• Analyze metaphase spreads and perform karyotyping.
• Coordinate with team to meet time-sensitive prenatal case turnarounds.
• Ensure compliance with NYSDOH, CLIA, CAP, and OSHA standards.
