Job summary

Legends Global is seeking a Premium and Suites Bartender to prepare and serve cocktails and non-alcoholic drinks at Toyota Arena. You will deliver warm, professional service and cultivate guest relationships to elevate the event experience.

The role requires 21+ age, food handler/alcohol server permits, and availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays. Previous bartending and customer service experience is a plus.

Department: Food & Beverage

Reports To: Food & Beverage Manager

Compensation: $21.40 an hour

Classification: Part-Time, non-exempt

Location: Toyota Arena

Position Description

The Premium and Suites Bartender prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks to customers at designated Premium locations. They are responsible for providing event day service to Toyota Arena guests, while exhibiting a warm, friendly and professional demeanor to build relationships that will enhance the guest experience

Essential Functions

• Responsible for mixing drinks to order and serving customers
• Responsible for having knowledge of all bar drinks and wines
• Maintain valid food handlers and alcoholic beverage server permits required by the Department of Health
• Assists in maintaining, organizing and cleaning all work area and equipment
• Attention to detail and consistency in every aspect of service
• Ensures all merchandizing and signage is properly displayed for each event
• Must adhere to the Company dress code which includes wearing black pants and non-slip soled closed toe shoes
• Obtain assigned workstation at beginning of shift
• Greet guests in a warm and welcoming manner
• Accurately use POS system while serving high volumes of guests
• Follow cash handling and tip reporting guidelines
• Expedite guest drink orders in a timely mannerStock product, set up garnish stations, cashier stations and display baskets
• Thoroughly complete all station set-up and breakdown responsibilities
• Practice proper product control and handling of all inventory and equipment
• Understand and execute responsible alcohol service
• Understand and maintain proper sanitation and food safety
• Be comfortable with the Arena and know how to navigate personally, as well as, assist guests
• Help maintain and ensure excellent customer service
• Abides by all Company policies in the Human Resources Policies and Procedures, the Business Code of Conduct
• Other duties as assigned

Experience/Training/Education Requirements

• Must be a minimum 21 years of age
• Highschool Diploma or GED
• Previous bartending experience a plus
• Previous customer service and cash handling experience is a plus
• Basic math and cash handling experience
• Must be flexible, have a sense of urgency, be able to respond quickly and resourcefully to internal and external issues
• Working knowledge of food production techniques, purchasing, and sanitation procedures
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to take tasks that are not clearly defined and appropriately define problem, propose and implement solutions
• Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays

License/Certificate

A valid food handler’s card is required for this position. The company will cover the cost of the training and compensate employees for the time spent completing the course. The certification must be obtained within 30 days of the hire date

Physical and Environmental Requirements

Tasks are performed with moderate supervision without assistance for 40% of the workday; pushing and pulling doors open, lifting, stooping, bending and lifting at least 25 lbs. Walking for long distances for more than 50% of workday. This position may require work inside or outside of the building, as needed by events. Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and holidays, in addition to normal business hours. Employees may be scheduled to work until 12:00am or later. Must be able to pass the background. Employee should use precautions & follow safety guidelines.
