Job summary

Farmers Insurance is seeking a Premium Audit Operations Supervisor to lead our Commercial Insurance Premium Audit team. You will drive daily operations, coach staff, ensure accurate premium assessments and strong quality controls, and support regulatory compliance.

You will partner with internal and external stakeholders to improve processes, accuracy, and overall team performance, while managing complex account reconciliations and litigation-support as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Leadership and analytics experience preferred; premium audit knowledge is a plus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to present and coach.

Responsibilities

• Leads and develops Premium Audit team members, sets priorities and expectations.
• Ensures documentation is maintained and policies are correctly distributed.
• Manages accounts, unapplied cash, and reconciliations; coordinates with agencies and service centers.
• Oversees negotiations of earned premium settlements with debtors; coordinates with vendors.

Job Summary

The Premium Audit Operations Supervisor leads the day-to-day operations and performance of the Premium Audit team within Commercial Insurance. This role develops and coaches team members while ensuring accurate premium assessments, strong quality controls, regulatory compliance, and timely resolution of complex account and reconciliation issues. The supervisor also partners with internal and external stakeholders and drives process improvements to strengthen operational efficiency, accuracy, and overall team performance.

Essential Job Functions

• Leads and develops team members on all premium audit functions and duties.
• Sets priorities and performance expectations ensuring tasks are completed accurately and timely.
• Ensures all official documents for the center are accounted for and electronically maintained.
• Ensures all policies are assembled accurately and completely and distributed according to state regulations.
• Maintains all policy account records; monitors unapplied cash; performs operational audits and reconciles out of balances; oversees correspondence with the agency force, insured and other service centers to correct accounts.
• Manages pursuit of uncollected earned premium items; establishes and maintains relationships with collection vendors and off‑site file storage vendors and reports on their results; develops and negotiates earned premium settlements with debtors.
• Oversees research and account reconciliations to provide legal representatives with factual summaries of customer accounts for use in litigations; attends court hearings to represent Farmers in legal proceedings regarding delinquent accounts.
• Completes operations reports as assigned in the business center.

Education Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree preferred.

Experience Requirements

• 3 years insurance experience required.
• Premium audit and Workers Compensation preferred.
• Leadership experience preferred.

Special Skill Requirement

• Technical expertise in commercial.
• Knowledge of management information and business systems (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated presentation skills.
• Analytical thinking skills to make timely, appropriate decisions and recommendations after reviewing all relevant information.
