Job summary

Levy at American Airlines Center is seeking a motivated, service-driven, event-based part-time Action Station Cook to join our Premium Culinary Team. This guest-facing role prepares and serves made-to-order dishes at live action stations, engaging with guests and delivering an exceptional culinary experience.

Ideal candidates thrive in high-energy environments with strong cooking skills and a smile, while accommodating evenings, weekends, and holiday event schedules in Dallas.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years cooking in a high-volume kitchen; stadium/arena experience is a plus.
• Valid ServSafe or state-certified Food Handler.
• Knowledge of grilling, sautéing, frying, and roasting; able to handle live station formats.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced event environment.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• English language skills: read, write, and speak fluently.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook fresh, made-to-order items at live buffet action stations.
• Provide friendly, professional interaction with guests while cooking and serving.
• Ensure consistent portioning, presentation, and quality standards.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area throughout service.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and equipment protocols.
• Assist with setup, breakdown, and restocking of action stations.
• Communicate effectively with front-of-house staff and culinary leadership to ensure smooth service flow.
• Support the culinary team with prep work and kitchen tasks as needed.

This guest-facing role is responsible for preparing and serving made-to-order dishes at live action stations (e.g., pasta, omelets, tacos, stir fry, bao buns, etc.), engaging with guests, and ensuring an exceptional culinary experience. Ideal candidates thrive in high-energy environments, have great cooking skills, and can deliver hospitality with a smile.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and cook fresh, made-to-order items at live buffet action stations.

Provide friendly, professional interaction with guests while cooking and serving.

Ensure consistent portioning, presentation, and quality standards.

Maintain a clean and organized work area throughout service.

Follow all food safety, sanitation, and equipment protocols.

• Valid ServSafe or state-approved Food Handler's certification.
• Knowledge of various cooking techniques, including grilling, sautéing, frying, and roasting.Strong cooking skills with knowledge of various cuisines and live station formats.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays according to event schedules.
• Excellent customer service, organization, and time management.
• Ability to speak, read, and write in English.
