• Outstanding customer service skills, strong organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task and handle multiple situations effectively
• Possess active Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential or meet NAEYC and state Pre-K candidacy requirements
• Meet state specific Pre-K guidelines for the role
• Have a state of Texas PreK teaching certificate or have a BA degree and be enrolled in an Alternative Certification Program (ACP)
• Each Teacher of Record must meet one of the following:
• Have at least 2 years of experience teaching in an accredited childcare program or Texas Rising Star program or Montessori program AND have a CDA.
• Have at least 8 years of experience teaching in an accredited childcare program or Texas Rising Star program.
• Participating in a coaching program (example – Texas School Ready) where the teacher will receive at least 150 total hours of coaching and professional development.
• Complete a formal Early Childhood training program approved by TEA such as Texas School Ready.
• Physically able to use a computer with basic proficiency and visual contact with children, see and hear well enough to keep children safe, and engage in physical activity with children
• Able to assume postures in low levels to allow physical and visual contact with children, see and hear well enough to keep children safe, and engage in physical activity with children
• Read, write, understand, and speak English to communicate with children and their parents in English
