Job Goal

To provide a safe and stimulating environment for children. Supports the lead teacher in conducting individual and group activities to encourage learning and develop social interaction skills. Prepares and/or serves children's meals.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • 2 years classroom experience (preferred)
  • Have basic training in caring for young children
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to follow directions from the director
  • Childcare or school teaching experience (preferred)
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Review learning material with students, either individually or in small groups to help reinforce lessons presented by lead teachers
  • Supervise students in class, during lunch hour, playtime or recess, and at special events
  • Aid in teaching appropriate behavior and social skills to students
  • Assist in enforcing school and classroom rules
  • Assist with record keeping, such as attendance records, student progress notes and grades
  • Help teachers prepare for lessons by assembling materials and equipment
  • Provide personal aid and care as necessary to students, such as helping with hygiene, eating, or toileting
  • Follow all licensing guidelines
  • Pursue and attend professional development opportunities
  • Build trusting relationships and bond with the children in your care

Attendance and punctuality are an expectation of the position. Some driving is required both in and out of District; and therefore, transportation is necessary. Some extended hours and multiple demands for several people are frequently required of the employee.
