Job summary

Pawtucketville Memorial School PreK-4 in Lowell, MA is seeking a Paraprofessional, CSA for a long-term substitute. You will support classroom teachers with developmentally appropriate activities for students with and without special needs, including ELL students, and assist with routines and safety.

Primary responsibilities include assisting with transitions, field trips, drills, and daily classroom tasks, with health position duties as specified. Immediate start and full-time hours are expected.

Qualifications

• Successfully passed the Paraprofessional test, OR 48 college credits or more, OR a Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
• Experience with the appropriate age group.

Responsibilities

• Assist classroom teacher in providing developmentally appropriate activities for students by implementing concrete learning activities that meet the varied developmental needs to students with and without special needs.
• Assist classroom teacher in getting students into and out of the buildings and classrooms. This may include lifting and carrying of students.
• Assist teacher during activities such as field trips, and emergency drills.
• Assist teacher with classroom routines such as a snack, washing dishes, clean-up, bathroom and other similar activities.
• Assist teacher in maintaining a healthy and safe environment for children and perform such other tasks and assume responsibilities as assigned by the building principal.
• For HEALTH positions: position will include feeding, changing diapers and toileting children.
