Job summary

Lowell Public Schools in Lowell, Massachusetts is seeking a Paraprofessional for the PreK-4 program at Pawtucketville Memorial School as a long-term substitute starting Aug 31, 2026.

Responsibilities include supporting teachers with developmentally appropriate activities, assisting with transitions, field trips, emergency drills, and daily routines, with health position duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Successfully passed the Paraprofessional test, OR 48 college credits or more, OR a Bachelor's Degree (preferred).
• Experience with the appropriate age group.

Responsibilities

• Assist classroom teacher in providing developmentally appropriate activities for PreK-4 students, including those with special needs and ELL students.
• Help students entering and exiting buildings and classrooms, including lifting and carrying when required.
• Support teachers during field trips and emergency drills.
• Assist with classroom routines such as snack, washing dishes, cleanup, and bathroom tasks.
• Maintain a healthy and safe environment and carry out duties as assigned by the principal.
• For HEALTH positions: assist with feeding, diaper changes and toileting when required.
