Chicago Public Schools seeks a dedicated teacher responsible for instruction, progress and discipline of students under the supervision of the school principal. You will develop written lesson plans, set positive learning expectations, assess pupil progress, and maintain records of achievements in alignment with the instructional program.

You will apply contemporary teaching principles, utilize available materials, and participate in professional meetings.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of student teaching and coursework for Illinois certification.
• Valid Professional Educator License (PEL) or Educator License with Stipulations (ELS) endorsed for this position.
• Knowledge of current teaching methods and behavior management.

Responsibilities

• Plan instructional lessons aligned to objectives and curriculum.
• Maintain accurate attendance records and student progress.
• Communicate with parents about progress and conduct.
• Participate in school-wide instructional programs and after-school activities.
