Job summary

DeKalb County School District's Early Learning Center is seeking a Pre-K-3 Lead Teacher to deliver high-quality instruction and foster an engaging classroom for diverse learners. You will lead instruction and collaborate with staff to support student achievement.

The role emphasizes lesson planning, assessed progress, and active involvement in professional development and school-wide initiatives. This is an on-site position at the Early Learning Center.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from a Georgia Professional Standards Commission-approved accredited college or university in the relevant educational field.
• Valid Professional Standards Commission-approved teaching certificate in the appropriate educational field.
• Special education teachers who issue grades must hold appropriate certification in service and align with the certificate.
• Valid Georgia Professional Standards Commission-approved subject-specific endorsements required.
• CTAE: Minimum education requirements based on CTAE Specializations.
• Must pass the GACE Education Ethics Assessment.
• Minimum two (2) years of verifiable industrial work experience.

Responsibilities

• Plans and delivers educational instruction to diverse learners, including those with special needs, in line with state and district standards.
• Develops and implements lesson plans and activities through in-person and virtual learning to fulfill the requirements of the district curriculum program.
• Communicates by phone, email, or video conferencing to confer with district personnel, students, and parents.
• Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for diverse development.
• Assesses, documents, and reports achievement progress, grades, and attendance.
• Supervises and manages student behavior per the Student Code of Conduct.
