Job summary

Allegheny Health Network seeks an experienced EMS dispatcher to support prehospital reporting and rapid communications within AHN hospitals and facilities in the region. The role involves handling incoming EMS reports and coordinating responses across multiple facilities.

The position requires a PA EMT or Paramedic license or EMS Compact Privilege and experience in EMS dispatch. It includes data entry, collaboration with security, and ongoing safety monitoring within a busy AHN communications

Qualifications

• PA EMT or Paramedic license or EMS Compact Privilege to Practice in Pennsylvania at the EMT or Paramedic level.
• Dispatching experience for an EMS agency or emergency operations center.
• Two years of experience in EMS and/or 911 Communications center.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and dispatches specialty teams within AHN facilities.

GENERAL OVERVIEW:

This role works in a fast-paced environment that receives prehospital reports from EMS agencies coming into AHN hospitals and other hospital facilities within the area. This position also works closely with hospital staff in a professional and efficient manner.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Receives Prehospital reports from EMS providers on ground or air ambulances. Relays reports to multiple receiving facilities. (20%)
• Coordinates and dispatches specialty teams within AHN facilities. (15%)
• Enters data for all activities performed within the communication center. (25%)
• Provides direct communication to security staff and dispatches officers when indicated. (15%)
• Monitors safety and security for areas of responsibility. (25%)
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum

• PA EMT or Paramedic license or EMS Compact Privilege to Practice in Pennsylvania at the EMT or Paramedic level

Preferred

• Dispatching experience for an EMS agency or emergency operations center
• Two years of experience in EMS and/or 911 Communications center

Additional Employment Requirements:

• CPRor obtain within 6 months of hire.
