Job summary

Henry Ford Health is seeking a Preference Card Coordinator - Surgical Services. This role performs the duties of a Surgical Technologist and develops and maintains the computer-based Surgery Services preference card system to support complex procedures.

The position collaborates with nursing, surgical teams, inventory and finance to keep accurate instrument, supply and equipment lists for procedures and ensure readiness for operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associates degree preferred.
• Graduate of CAAHEP accredited Surgical Technology program.
• Minimum of two years experience as Surgical Technologist or Supply Chain Management, including at least one year as Surgical Technologist with complex cases.
• Current certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist.
• Current BLS certification.

Job Description

The Preference Card Coordinator - Surgical Services performs the duties of a Surgical Technologist, as well as being responsible for the development and maintenance of the computer-based Surgical Services preference card system. This position works closely with local nursing and surgical teams and is responsible for the maintenance of the preference cards to address surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during complex surgical procedures. The Preference Card Coordinator - Surgical Services also works closely with inventory personnel and financing to accurately maintain inventory and equipment lists for surgical procedures.

Qualifications:
Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Associates Degree preferred.
• Graduate of CAAHEP (Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education programs) accredited Surgical Technology program.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Surgical Technologist and/or Supply Chain Management, including at least one (1) year of experience as a Surgical Technologist with extremely complicated/complex case experience required.
• Current certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist.
• Current BLS certification.
