As a leading Trane® independent office, Brady brings efficient, reliable, and secure building solutions throughout central and eastern North Carolina. We take pride in all we do and in our Associates which is why we offer competitive pay and compensation, benefits, growth opportunities, and more!

The Preconstruction Project Manager works to bridge the gap between engineering design and construction within necessary timelines, established budgets and exceeding the expectations of our clients. This role involves extensive communication with the sales, engineering, suppliers, sub contractors, scheduling, safety and construction teams to develop plans, and mitigate risks against schedule, budget, safety and quality of the overall project. The Preconstruction Project Manager’s primary objective is to ensure construction projects are properly planned and coordinated from the early phases of design with a smooth transition into construction.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Lead the preconstruction effort for assigned projects from concept through final proposal. Coordinate the internal teams that contribute, including design, estimating, safety, and equipment sales, so each deliverable is completed on time and fits the project goals. Own the integrated delivery plan, schedule, budget, and final proposal.
  • Participate as a key contributor and knowledge base for the overall design constructability and sequencing plan
  • Drive collaboration between various stakeholders
  • Know Client Expectations and Manage Client Interface
  • Lead planning efforts including strategy development, and execution with design, procurement and construction management teams to ensure efficient and timely flow of information
  • Conduct constructability reviews during all phases of design to include the appropriate construction and trade resources for synchronized reviews.
  • Support estimate and schedule development and recommend opportunities for optimization based on previous experience, and value driven solutions
  • Develop subcontracting and procurement strategies in collaboration with the construction management and procurement teams
  • Support the development of 3-D visualizations
  • Develop thorough site logistics plans including utility, offsite or other requirements
  • Coordinate with internal safety, quality, project services and technical services groups to ensure a comprehensive preconstruction planning process
  • Work to build a cooperative partnership between the client, contractor and all stakeholders to ensure a timely resolution of project issues and the overall success of the project.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years experience in managing construction projects related to industrial and/or commercial facilities
  • Experience with 3D Modelling software preferred
  • Field Construction Experience on active construction projects
  • Effective communication and leadership skills
  • Experience optimizing construction scheduling and sequencing
  • Ability and willingness to travel to support project and client needs during planning, design, procurement and early construction phases. Travel requirements will vary based on project needs and may be up to 50% of working time, including extended periods at client sites, construction sites, fabrication facilities and project offices throughout North Carolina. Travel frequency may fluctuate based on project lifecycle and business needs.
  • Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment while supporting project teams and stakeholders located across multiple Brady offices: Greensboro, Morrisville and Wilmington. This role requires a balance between remote work and in person participation for project meetings, workshops, client engagements, design reviews, constructability reviews, and execution planning sessions as required.
