Cherry Coatings in Austin, TX seeks an experienced Preconstruction Manager to lead estimating, bid preparation, and early project planning for commercial painting in a high-demand market. You will collaborate with operations, field teams, and clients to develop accurate scopes, schedules, and pricing for large-scale projects.

The role requires 5–10 years of progress in commercial painting, strong estimating skills, and fluency with plans and specifications.

Qualifications

• 5-10 years of progressive growth in commercial paint.
• Strong estimating experience is required.
• High level of fluency in reading plans, specifications & related documents.
• Proficient with PlanSwift, Plan Grid, Building Connected & MS Office Suite (Excel).
• Flexible to work in a fast-paced environment and field/office hours.
• Multitasking responsibilities from takeoff to sales.

Responsibilities

• Mentor, coach, and develop all team members.
• Attend Job Site visits and partner with Operations/Field managers.
• Deliver solid estimates for entire project scopes.
• Ensure complete bid and cost evaluation; mitigate risks.
• Respond to RFPs and prepare formal presentations for projects.
• Review bid documents for completeness and accuracy.
• Develop and monitor preconstruction schedule; manage estimating pipeline.
• Present job schedule projections and collaborate with Field Operations.
• Maintain knowledge of competitive market pricing and customer engagement.
