Job summary

Samuel Knight Energy & Digital Infrastructure is seeking a Preconstruction Manager with CSA and MEP expertise to guide early design through GMP on large data center programs. The role oversees estimating, budgeting and cost-model development across civil, structural, architectural and MEP scopes.

You will run constructability reviews, manage bid packages and buyouts, and collaborate with design teams, clients and trade partners to ensure a successful handover to the field.

Qualifications

• Experience leading preconstruction/estimation on large, complex GC projects.
• Strong knowledge of CSA and MEP scopes in data center contexts.
• Data center or mission-critical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

A well-established general contractor delivering large-scale data center campuses is looking for a Preconstruction Manager with CSA and MEP experience to join its growing preconstruction team.

You’ll be involved at the earliest stage of some of the most technically complex projects in the market, shaping how they’re priced, planned and built. The pipeline is strong, the team is expanding and there’s real room to grow into senior preconstruction leadership.

What you’ll be doing

• Leading preconstruction on data center projects from early design through to GMP
• Developing estimates, budgets and cost models across civil, structural, architectural and MEP scopes
• Running constructability and value engineering reviews with design teams and clients
• Building bid packages, managing trade partner buyout and leveling bids
• Working with scheduling and operations teams to set projects up for a smooth handover to the field
• Building strong relationships with owners, designers and key trade partners

What you’ll bring

• Preconstruction or estimating experience with a general contractor on large, complex projects
• Strong working knowledge of both CSA and MEP scopes
• Data center or mission-critical experience strongly preferred
• Confidence presenting budgets and recommendations to clients
• A degree in construction management, engineering or a related field is a plus
