Kay & Co. is seeking a Preconstruction Manager to help launch a new Raleigh, NC office for an established general contractor. You will lead preconstruction, budgeting, and scheduling, while leveraging Raleigh relationships to build a local network and drive market-entry initiatives.

Reporting directly to leadership, you will establish processes and teams as the office grows, ensuring the company's name and reputation are represented from day one in the Triangle region.

Qualifications

• Commercial General Contractor experience based in or around Raleigh, NC — non-negotiable
• An established network of Raleigh-area subcontractors, owners, architects, and engineers
• Working knowledge of the local permitting process, labor market, and competitive landscape
• Strong preconstruction background: estimating, scheduling, and budgeting on commercial projects

Responsibilities

• Lead all preconstruction activity for the new Raleigh office — estimating, scheduling, budgeting, and value engineering — across ground-up and renovation work
• Stand up the local preconstruction function as the office's founding hire, shaping process and team as the office grows
• Leverage your existing Raleigh relationships to bring subcontractors, owners, architects, and engineers into the company's local network
• Partner directly with company leadership on market-entry strategy and business development in the Triangle region
• Represent the company's name and reputation in the Raleigh construction community from day one
