Job summary

Foundry in Central Florida seeks a Senior Preconstruction Manager with a strong GC estimating/preconstruction background. You will lead pricing and bid strategies across multiple pursuits, coordinate with owners, design teams, and trade partners, and mentor junior staff from the earliest stages of projects through final pricing and handover.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of commercial construction estimating/preconstruction experience.
• Strong General Contractor experience.
• Experience estimating projects across all trades/divisions.
• Strong conceptual estimating and budgeting ability.
• Experience with GMP, negotiated, design-build and hard-bid work.
• Excellent knowledge of the Central Florida construction market.
• Established relationships with Orlando/Central Florida subcontractors.
• Experience working directly with owners and design teams.
• Ability to lead multiple estimates and pursuits simultaneously.
• Strong knowledge of estimating software tools including Bluebeam, OST and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Lead full preconstruction and estimating processes.

• Lead estimates across trades and CSI divisions.

We're representing an established General Contractor that's expanding its Central Florida operation and looking to add an experienced Senior Preconstruction Manager to its Orlando team.

This is a key hire for the business. We're looking for someone with a strong General Contractor estimating/preconstruction background, excellent knowledge of the Central Florida construction market and established relationships with local subcontractors.

You'll take a lead role across multiple pursuits and work closely with clients, design teams, Operations and trade partners from the earliest stages of a project through final pricing and handover.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for the full preconstruction and estimating process, including:

• Developing conceptual, schematic, DD and construction-document estimates
• Leading estimates across all trades and CSI divisions
• Managing multiple bids and pursuits concurrently
• Developing subcontractor coverage and managing the bid process
• Reviewing and leveling subcontractor proposals
• Identifying scope gaps, risks and opportunities
• Developing GMPs and hard-bid estimates
• Supporting negotiated, design-build and design-assist projects
• Leading value engineering and cost-saving exercises
• Providing constructability and logistics input
• Working directly with owners, architects and design teams
• Presenting estimates and budgets to clients
• Maintaining strong relationships with the Central Florida subcontractor market
• Mentoring and supporting less experienced members of the Preconstruction team

What We're Looking For

We're interested in speaking with experienced Senior Estimators, Preconstruction Managers and Senior Preconstruction Managers who have built their careers with General Contractors.

Ideally, you’ll have:

• 10+ years of commercial construction estimating/preconstruction experience
• Strong experience working for a General Contractor
• Experience estimating projects across all trades/divisions
• Strong conceptual estimating and budgeting ability
• Experience with GMP, negotiated, design-build and hard-bid work
• Excellent knowledge of the Central Florida construction market

• Strong knowledge of Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, Excel and other estimating/preconstruction software

A bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or a related discipline is preferred.
