Job summary

Synectics Inc. seeks an experienced Construction Estimator to review bid documents, analyze scope, and prepare detailed cost estimates for Midwest projects.

You will lead subcontractor bid collection, maintain bid databases, and present estimates to executives and clients. In this role, you will develop timelines, perform quantity take-offs, research costs, and apply value engineering to optimize project budgets while building strong relationships with customers, design teams, and trade

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field, or applicable work experience.
  • At least 10 years of construction estimating and bidding experience.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, Procore, Bluebeam and Microsoft Project.
  • Proficient in research, data collection and analysis, and estimation metrics.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • People-oriented with ability to build relationships across teams and vendors.
  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze bid documents and plan packages for scope and understanding.

  • Maintain subcontractor bid database for the Midwest through research and vetting.

  • Prepare detailed estimates with quantity take-offs, analysis, and research at all pre-construction stages.
  • Provide value engineering, design review, and constructability analysis to optimize costs.
  • Communicate data on construction and material cost trends influencing project costs.
  • Prepare and present detailed estimates to executives and clients.
