Job summary

Engtal in Dallas–Fort Worth is seeking a Pre-Construction Manager to join our growing commercial construction team. This early-career role offers hands-on estimating and preconstruction experience alongside an established group.

You will support the preconstruction process from bid through handoff, gain exposure to a variety of commercial projects, and collaborate with senior estimators and operations teams in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field.
• Internship or field experience with a general contractor is a plus.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Assist with quantity takeoffs, pricing, bid preparation, and scope reviews.
• Review drawings, specifications, and other construction documents.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier proposals.
• Assist with bid leveling and scope comparisons.
• Maintain subcontractor and vendor relationships.

Job description

We are seeking a Pre-Construction Manager to join a growing commercial construction team in the Dallas–Fort Worth market. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career construction professional looking to build their estimating and preconstruction experience while working alongside an established team.

The Junior Estimator will support the preconstruction process from initial bid through project handoff, gaining exposure to a variety of commercial projects throughout DFW.

Responsibilities

• Assist with quantity takeoffs, pricing, bid preparation, and scope reviews
• Review drawings, specifications, and other construction documents
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier proposals
• Assist with bid leveling and scope comparisons
• Maintain subcontractor and vendor relationships
• Support conceptual estimates and budget development
• Participate in preconstruction and project handoff meetings
• Help maintain historical pricing and estimating databases
• Work closely with senior estimators, preconstruction managers, and operations teams

Qualifications

• 3-10 years of construction, estimating, preconstruction, or related experience
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred
• Internship or field experience with a general contractor is a plus
• Basic understanding of construction drawings and specifications
• Experience with Bluebeam, Procore, OST, BuildingConnected, or similar software is beneficial
• Strong organizational and analytical skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams
• Motivated to develop into a well-rounded estimator and preconstruction professional
• $90,000-140,000 base salary, depending on experience
