MGAC is a global boutique consultancy serving clients across North America. The Preconstruction Manager will lead critical environments projects such as data centers and hospitals, managing scope, schedule, and budget while mentoring teams.

Remote support with travel may be required, and the role emphasizes ownership, client partnership, and proactive risk management. The candidate should have extensive preconstruction and MEP experience and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in preconstruction project management with a thorough understanding of the building design and construction process.
  • Bachelor's, Associates, or equivalent experience in a construction-related discipline.
  • 2+ years of experience managing critical environment construction projects (e.g., data centers, labs, hospitals).
  • MEP experience in ground-up construction.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, problem-solving, presentation, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

What You’ll Be Doing

MGAC’s Critical Environments team manages the construction of data centers and hospitals with deep industry expertise. We act as owners’ representatives resolving issues, managing conflicts, and guiding informed decisions to keep projects on track. As a Project Manager at MGAC, you will lead incredible, resume‑building, high‑visibility projects.

Project Leadership
  • Independently manage the full scope of projects while simultaneously managing components of others.

  • Lead pre‑construction estimating, constructability analysis and delivery strategy.
  • Achieve and maintain the client’s vision as a trusted partner.
Financial and Contract Management
  • Ensure timely invoicing and collection.
  • Identify and secure add‑services opportunities.
Collaboration and Communication
  • Maintain collaborative relationships with clients, A&E professionals, contractors/GCs, vendors, and other teams.
  • Anticipate project and team risks; solve complex challenges and conflicts.
  • Conduct requirements gathering and needs assessments.

Salary Range

$120,000 - $160,000 per year (commensurate with experience)

The advertised salary range is intended as a general guideline and may vary based on factors such as experience, expertise, and location. This base salary does not reflect the full compensation package, which may include bonuses, 401(k) matching up to 8%, and other benefits.
