Job summary

We Search People is partnering with a well-established Cincinnati-based Commercial General Contractor to hire a Preconstruction Manager. This on-site, full-time role offers an opportunity to influence a growing project pipeline on high-profile commercial builds.

You will lead preconstruction efforts from concept through GMP, develop budgets and estimates, and collaborate with clients, architects, and internal teams. A long-term path to senior roles and strong leadership culture are highlighted.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience in Preconstruction/Estimating in commercial construction.
• Experience with ground-up and renovation projects.
• Ability to manage budgets from concept through pricing.
• Proficient with Procore, Bluebeam or similar software.
• Strong communication with clients and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

We are working with a well-established Commercial General Contractor in Cincinnati that is looking to bring on an experienced Preconstruction Manager to support a strong and growing pipeline of projects.

This is a key hire within the business, offering long-term stability, clear progression, and the opportunity to work on high-profile commercial builds.

Responsibilities:

• Lead preconstruction efforts from initial concept through to GMP
• Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and take-offs
• Manage bid packages, subcontractor outreach, and procurement strategy
• Work closely with clients, architects, and internal project teams
• Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving strategies
• Support handover to operations and project management teams

Requirements:

• 5+ years’ experience in Preconstruction / Estimating within commercial construction
• Strong background in ground-up and renovation commercial projects
• Proven ability to manage budgets from conceptual through final pricing
• Experience with software such as Procore, Bluebeam, or similar
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with clients and stakeholders
