Job summary

AECOM Hunt is seeking a Preconstruction Intern to be based in Dallas, TX, starting Summer 2027. The role offers exposure to cost estimating, schedule development, and logistics planning through collaboration with senior staff.

Interns gain hands-on experience in engineering, design, and construction management within a global firm. This paid internship provides a broad learning path and potential relocation assistance as needed.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering or similar; at least 1 year of study completed.
• Recent graduates with a bachelor’s degree who plan to pursue a master’s degree are eligible.
• Must have been enrolled in their bachelor’s degree in the most recent term with intent to continue in the same discipline.

Responsibilities

• Perform assignments to develop professional knowledge using standard techniques and criteria.
• Assist with development of a project prior to on-site construction activities.
• Support cost estimating using traditional 2D takeoffs or 3D quantities in a model.
• Assist with preliminary project schedule development by reviewing project documents.
• Study project site characteristics to help plan logistics, phasing, and laydown areas.
