Job summary

STRM Recruiting seeks a detail-oriented Construction Estimator in Phoenix to support preconstruction and bidding. You will analyze drawings, specs, bid packages, and develop labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor cost projections.

This role requires experience estimating commercial construction projects for a general contractor or similar, with proficiency in Excel and estimating software, and the ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines.

Qualifications

• Experience estimating commercial construction projects for a general contractor or related organization.
• Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, pricing, and subcontractor coordination.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
• Experience with construction estimating software and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed construction cost estimates throughout preconstruction.
• Analyze drawings, specifications, bid packages, and project requirements.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and develop labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor cost projections.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor pricing.
• Develop scope comparisons and identify gaps in bid coverage.
• Collaborate with project managers, operations teams, and preconstruction leadership.
• Participate in value engineering and constructability reviews.
• Evaluate project risks, cost trends, and pricing alternatives.
• Prepare bid proposals, estimate summaries, and supporting documentation.
• Maintain accurate estimating records and historical cost information.
